Smart Separation. Cleaner Compliance.
Effluent Efficiency Starts Here
Solid separation is a crucial step in any effluent system, especially as environmental regulations tighten and system efficiency becomes a top priority. Whether you’re dealing with stone, fibre, or sand, having the right separation solution in place reduces wear on downstream equipment, minimises pond loading, and makes nutrient distribution more effective.
At Reid & Harrison Services, we offer a full range of separation options. There range from simple stone traps and weeping walls to high-performance mechanical separators. Our solutions are designed to suit your farm’s size, system design, and future compliance needs.
Solid Thinking for Smart Farms
Stone Traps
A simple but essential first step in any effluent system. Stone traps catch heavier materials such as gravel and sand before they enter the main effluent flow, protecting pumps and preventing costly blockages.
We size and install traps to match your operation, complete with integrated solids storage and proper containment for runoff.
Weeping Walls
Practical, reliable, and cost‑effective, weeping walls are a farmer favourite. Using a passive filtration design, they separate solids naturally while allowing liquid effluent to drain away.
Our galvanised steel panels are mounted in concrete and built tough enough to handle loader buckets and the daily knocks of farm life.
Mechanical Separation
When you need efficiency and control, mechanical separation is the next step. These systems remove a higher percentage of liquid, reducing storage demand and improving nutrient recovery.
We supply and install a full range of options, from Static Screens and Rotary Drums through to Centrifuges, Inclined Screws, and Screw Presses, depending on your required level of separation.
Protect Pumps & Piping
Separating solids reduces clogging and mechanical wear, increasing the lifespan of pumps and pipes.
Reduce Storage Demand
With solids removed, liquid effluent takes up less space — saving on infrastructure and emptying costs.
Enable Smarter Spreading
Liquids spread more evenly and consistently, improving nutrient distribution and reducing environmental risk.
Stay Ahead of Compliance
Solid separation is becoming a legal requirement and we help you stay compliant and ready for the future.
Looking Ahead: Plan for Tomorrow
A good separation system doesn’t just meet today’s needs, it sets you up for scalable growth. We work with you to plan for seasonal volume changes, system expansions, or future upgrades with minimal disruption.
