OUR HISTORY
Reid & Harrison was originally started by Ken Reid, the inventor of the Yardmaster Pump. Always based from Matamata, it has its roots from general engineering that refocused on servicing the dairy industry, particularly for Dairy effluent management. The current owners, Bob and Seaton Dalley trace their involvement back 50 years ago when Bob started in the business as a 17-year-old.
The Reid & Harrison Services team was formed to better recognise their role in on farm and workshop based support for the local farming community.
In February 2016, Reid & Harrison bought the Waharoa based Environmental Technologies business and integrated this into their Matamata operations. The pond pumping, trenching and herd home pumping services have complemented the existing service workshop known for its quick and efficient pump and effluent equipment repairs. Also added to the portfolio were the product lines of irrigators, hydrants and weeping wall panels. With full accreditation for Effluent Systems design, R&H have the resources and the team for a full system design, installation, commissioning and maintenance for the local area we service. Also backed by the Yardmaster Factory resource, there is some real muscle power here for any job.
In March 2019, Reid & Harrison bought the Morrinsville based Pond Pumping business from Hitech. With two complete pond pumping systems and a further 4 staff to operate these, they combined with existing Matamata Pond pumping System and two tanking units R&H already had. The result is a highly resourced and focused team that looks after the wider Piako/Matamata/Waikato area. This complements R&H’s on farm effluent systems servicing capability.

Dane Lowe
R&H SERVICES MANAGER
Dane is a well-known Matamata local who brings experience from his building background as part of Lowe Builders. This included on farm work with cow sheds and bunkers as well as general building. Coming recently as floor manager of a building supply retail shop, Dane brings a wealth of knowledge and ability to project manage jobs. As the Reid & Harrison Services Manager, Dane is responsible for looking after all the local customers who need on site effluent work from fixed systems to contract pumping and trenching.
Jason Doherty
SERVICE TECHNICIAN
Jason is better known by locals for his nickname Doff. A very experienced and qualified electrician, he is a bit of a guru on automation of systems. He has joined our team to be involved in the full effluent system install and servicing.
A hunter gatherer with the required humour to fit in and be an asset to our services team.
Martin Prescott
PRODUCTION MANAGER
While it’s not true Martin was born at the Reid and Harrison factory, he did start working there after school while he was going to Matamata College.
With over 40 years 'hard labour', Martin has extensive knowledge about the Yardmaster range, runs the factory ensuring products are made on time to the best quality, is the go-to-guy to book repair work and happy to help you out for any product enquires.
Terry Rankin
POND PUMPING SPERVISOR
Born and raised on dairy farms Terry has a wealth of knowledge and experiences that complement his role here at R&H Services as our Pond Pumping Supervisor, as well as over 8 years’ experience in the pond pumping game. He organises the emptying of ponds, sumps and herd homes and the safe and efficient application onto the farm paddocks.
